joe rooms is the Engineers Without Borders Senior Fellow from June until December 2018 at KDI in Kenya. Joe works for the UK Environment Agency, which is the government body that builds, maintains and operates England’s flood defences, among other duties. Joe is a civil engineer by background and is working towards a chartership under the UK’s Institution of Civil Engineers. During his time so far at KDI, Joe has been working on three of Kenya’s construction projects: the Andolo PPS, ANWA Junior Academy, and the KPSP05 footbridge in Gatwekera village.
