Digital Archiving Volunteer
KOUNKUEY DESIGN INITIATIVE (KDI) is currently seeking a Digital Archiving volunteer to assist us with maintaining and updating our digital information systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly organized, but out-of-the-box, thinker interested in helping an innovative nonprofit maximize its potential.
KDI is located in downtown Los Angeles, but this opportunity will involve close coordination with our offices in the Eastern Coachella Valley, CA; Nairobi, Kenya; and Stockholm, Sweden. We think that the opportunity could last for 2-3 months, and perhaps longer as our archiving needs grow.The Digital Archiving Opportunity
As a Digital Archiving volunteer, you will closely assist with the Development, Communications, Projects and Administration teams to improve and streamline KDI’s file management systems in order to maximize operational efficiency and cross-office learning. Your efforts will help enhance the organization and accessibility of grant-related and project delivery documents, curate an extensive project photo library for communications and publications, and assist in maintaining news and project archives on key communications channels.This opportunity would be well suited for someone with:
If you are interested:
- Undergraduate or graduate-level coursework in Library and Information Science or similar
- Excellent writing, analytical, and research abilities
- Interest in nonprofit, international development, and community development work
