KDI partnered with the Youth Policy Institute (YPI)'s Health and Wellness team on a grant through KaBOOM!'s Let's Play Everywhere Los Angeles Challenge to transform the areas surrounding ten school sites in the Los Angeles Promise Zone into fun spaces for play via a system of wayfinding activity signs designed with students. These systems of signs encourage students, parents, and other community members to partake in a range of active, wellness, social, and imaginative exercises as they head to and from school, and connect them to cultural, recreational, and wellness amenities in their neighborhoods. In addition, KDI provided a fleet of Wobbles and add-ons to Rosemont Elementary to enable their community to activate the spaces around the school for various forms of play.
