Planning Consultant
Joseph Wahome is an Urban Planning Consultant at Kounkuey Design Initiative (KDI), where he supports the design and implementation of inclusive, evidence-based urban development strategies. His work focuses on integrating spatial planning, stakeholder engagement, and climate resilience in informal settlements across Nairobi. With a strong foundation in GIS mapping, spatial data analysis, and participatory planning, Joseph coordinates stakeholder workshops and produces high-quality planning outputs to inform policy and practice. He is particularly committed to community-centered planning approaches that prioritize the needs and voices of residents in informal urban areas. Joseph holds a Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning from Kenyatta University and is a member of the Kenya Institute of Planners.
Outside of his professional work, Joseph enjoys music. He plays instruments and sings, often using music to recharge, connect with others, and express creativity beyond the planning desk.
