Research Intern
Melissa is a Research Intern at KDI Kenya. She is passionate about community-led climate adaptation and the co-production of knowledge through participatory research methods. Grounded in a strong commitment to environmental justice, Melissa’s work focuses on centering marginalized voices in addressing urban risk and climate vulnerability in cities across the Global South. Melissa holds an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL and a BSc in Earth, Energy and Sustainability. Before joining KDI, Melissa worked with UN-Habitat’s Regional Office for Africa, contributing to urban resilience projects and regional strategy development. At KDI, she supports the research team’s work on systemic risk, climate resilience, and wetland politics through inclusive, creative methods rooted in community knowledge and practice.
