Design Associate
Ellen is a Design Associate at KDI’s Los Angeles office. A Tennessee native, she was drawn to landscape architecture for its implicit mission to reconcile built and natural systems through a human lens. Ellen’s work at KDI focuses on amplifying and acting on community needs across sites and scales. She is currently working on projects at and around the Salton Sea, in Philadelphia, and in Los Angeles.
She is currently a part-time lecturer at the UCLA Luskin School of Urban Planning. Prior to joining KDI, she worked as a Designer at SALT Landscape Architects in LA, interned at Studio-MLA and Scape, and worked as a teaching assistant at the Graduate School of Design.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and a Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.
