Martin, an Eastern Coachella Valley native, believes in the untapped potential that underrepresented communities have for advocacy and social change. For the past four years, he has been exposed to KDI’s work in his community. Martin has participated in our workshops and even helped AMO, a collective of community leaders, manage their business during the Coachella music and arts festival. As a community coordinator for KDI, he is responsible for working with communities to ensure their concerns and needs are heard throughout all stages of our projects. As part of Indio Organizing Power, Martin stays involved in his community, participating in issue-based campaigns and civic engagement. Throughout the years, he has honed his leadership development, workshop facilitation, outreach strategy, and problem-solving abilities to give back to his community. Martin holds a Philosophy degree from the College of the Desert.
