Will is an award-winning landscape architect and Design Principal at Kounkuey Design Initiative in Los Angeles. His work focuses on deconstructing traditional barriers between professional knowledge and community wisdom—where design expertise and traditions of community care can inform both design creation and long-term stewardship. At KDI, he oversees our landscape architecture practice, stewarding projects such as the Vista Del Valle Green Schoolyard, Mar Vista Gardens Campus Greening, and Desert Lakeshore Outdoor Educational Center. Prior to joining our team, Will led SCAPE Landscape Architecture's San Francisco practice and worked with West8 in New York and the Netherlands. Will's work can be found all over the world in the form of large parks, waterfronts, downtown corridors, cultural institutions, and higher education campuses—all places that thrive when designers and communities exchange knowledge as equal partners.
